About Us

Helmets On Heads is a comprehensive initiative from Schwinn in association with the ThinkFirst National Injury Prevention Foundation to encourage and educate bike riders of all ages on the importance of wearing helmets. This long-term campaign brings together America’s most iconic bike brand with a recognized safety non-profit to educate children and families about bike and helmet safety, while offering opportunities and tools for educators, local communities and families to get involved and take action.

Helmets on Heads is committed to educating one million kids about bike helmet safety over the next 10 years. Helmets on Heads will offer tools and opportunities for educators, local communities and families to get involved and take action in protecting themselves and those around them. Helmets On Heads is driven by a desire to have every rider, regardless of age or ability wearing a helmet.

Everyone has a role to play in bike safety, including parents and caregivers, elected officials from all levels of government, schools, health care professionals, faith-based and community-based organizations, and private sector companies. Your involvement is key to ensuring a safe and healthy future for our children and us.

Throughout 2012, Helmets On Heads will be visiting communities across the country to fit kids with helmets and provide teachers, parents and caregivers with information and resources on the importance of helmet safety.
